The Diploma is designed for practitioners working outside formal education, by people of all ages and abilities and can be undertaken in any style of dance: ballet, contemporary, jazz, commercial, street dance, hip hop, ballroom, and Asian dance.

The Diploma requires candidates to:

• Evidence the ability to refine and use understanding, methods and skills in teaching and learning practice;

• Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and create high quality, safe and informed teaching and learning practice in a range of settings.

On completion of the course, candidates will receive a nationally recognised teaching qualification, from Trinity College London (the awarding body), worth 90 credits at level 6 of the national Qualifications and Credit Framework.

The DDTAL has now been recognised by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) as a route to QTLS – Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills in the formal sector.
