Which Graded Ballet Class to Choose?

Book a trial!

Once a trial class has been taken, the teacher will suggest the best possible class for the student.
Examinations are not compulsory. However, we do hold examinations at our centre regularly throughout the year for those who wish to be entered.

Most classes have multiple day options, and students who attend two classes a week will progress faster. It is compulsory for vocational graded students (Intermediate/ Advanced 1 / Advanced 2) to attend two syllabus classes per week, and usually Ballet Technique is strongly advised.

We have a variety of ballet classes for children who may be starting or returning to ballet. We also have specialised technique classes for students who already attend graded classes with us and wish to take their studies further. Additionally, a dedicated Boys Ballet class is part of our Boys Performance School and encourages boys to take up this fantastic dance form.

Boys Performance School

These classes are specifically designed for boys from the age of 6, to nurture and encourage their performance skills in a confidence building environment.

The Boys Performance School will give students an opportunity to learn Ballet, Tap, Singing, Drama and Street Dance. Students can attend the whole school from 9:00am to 1:00pm or pick individual classes.

Contemporary Dance

Contemporary dance is a dynamic and expressive style of dance that blends elements of modern, lyrical and jazz dance. As of the most popular styles at our centre, there are many different Contemporary classes on offer for all ages.

Our Contemporary classes are split by age, and then ability.  We even offer classes perfect for students studying GCSE or A Level Dance.

Our Drama classes for 10- 19 years are designed to give students comprehensive, pre-vocational acting training. They are specifically tailored for students wishing to go on to further study at full time stage schools or universities, as well as those students already on our affiliated agency.

Drama is also taught in all our Stage Schools and Performing Arts Clubs. More specific drama training is provided in our Saturday Performance School, as well as Boys Performance School classes.

Lamda acting & musical theatre

At NLPAC we offer LAMDA Classes, preparing students to take graded exams in Acting and Musical Theatre.

Students can work towards graded exams from Entry level up to grade 8 (Gold), leading to prestigious, nationally recognised qualifications from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art – with the higher grades earning the learner UCAS points.

LAMDA Exams are held at our centre at the end of every term.

LAMDA Acting

LAMDA examinations in Acting use the preparation and performance of dramatic scenes to support the development of self-confidence and communication skills.

By portraying other characters, learners can explore a range of different personalities and emotions, which in turn makes them more emotionally aware and empathetic.
